Hi All,

I am trying to understand this: ''New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.''

Does this mean previous experience and pay in the private sector will amount to nothing and one will start from the bottom? Let's say they give a range of $4,935.00 - $8,740.00 per Month, does that mean one automatically starts at $4,935 as a first time employee with the state?
