reddit.comSo I (Lawful Evil Crown Paladin) am playing descent into Avernus and I made a deal to free Tiamat a few levels back, And I kinda want to get a feel for the potential fallout or consequences of freeing her. See, I didn't do this for a selfish reason, I didn't even do this for any reason of my own. The player playing my brother started us on a quest to free his mother from servitude in the oasis, said character died and now my paladin is finishing the quest to honor her brother.
See, I've slowly been going down the road of corruption, turning my neutral paladin Lawful Evil, In a very Raymond Reddington way as she learns how to make and manipulate contracts. So, I'm wondering if I could also leverage having freed Tiamat against Zariel or possibly using her to end The Blood War and push the demons out of Avernus, After freeing the city of course.
My Paladin is all about maintaining the Status quo and protecting her family and their interests, and keeping Tiamat busy with the constant red tape that is involved in ruling Avernus definitely aligns with that.
So, DM's, Hit me with your best unintended consequences.
What if Robin Williams was in Star Wars? Who could he play?
Would he be a Jedi? Sith? Something else? What kind of role would he play?
So, I'm about to start Curse of Strahd in august after almost a year of playing Avernus and I came up with a concept for a character, I want to see if you guys like it, or get advice on how I could improve it.
Aerith Faewalker was a Devotion Paladin, her oath sworn to her family and acting in service to The Raven Queen. See, What sets Aerith apart from other Paladins is WHY she took her vows, knowing she was dying of a wasting disease and wanting more time to get her affairs in order to leave something of substance for her daughter and her husband.
After a year helping fight a war in the east Aerith came home to an empty house, no note, no trace of her family or a reason for them leaving. In her grief she disavowed her Goddess and her anger reached the hells itself. Asmodeus has always wanted to corrupt the soul of a champion, to prove his power and influence was beyond question. So, Asmodeus made a promise.
Asmodeus would keep her from dying and would allow her to find the reason behind her families disappearance, and in return, She would do his bidding. But, What he didn't tell her, Is that he wouldn't cure her of the disease. That she would be kept alive, Yet still terminally ill.
I plan to play her as an Oathbreaker and very mistrusting of The Gods.
Hello Ya'll,
My Grandfather currently lives in Kentucky, Just off the Ohio River. My kin on my mother's side all come from Kentucky, usually the Cadiz and Morganfield area. The wife and I are trying to have kids and while raising them in the early years near her parents is a good idea, I'm trying to convince my wife that from Pre-K on up, Kentucky might be a better choice for a slower more intimate pace. Safer too. Our current state is Pennsylvania, and while I like it, I really can't envision raising our children anywhere besides Kentucky, That's why I'm reaching out, What are some good points?
We're both in our 30's, Millennials, She was born in Tn and I was born in Indiana, but spent a lot of time in Kentucky. We're both Jewish Converts and need a religious community, A reform Synagogue would be perfect for both of us. And we definitely need a town with a decent hospital nearby and options for work.
We're not opposed to living in a suburb of a bigger city, If that fits our needs. But Paducah has the religious community we both want.
What are some selling points for Kentucky? Or Paducah specifically if you live or have lived there? What is some good advice for a couple just having kids that you could give?
