I’m curious if anyone else feels the coaching value is dropping as class sizes increase. My current studio is consistently hitting 30–35 participants with a single coach. While the coach is great, they can't be everywhere at once. I’m finding it hard to justify the premium price when I’m essentially just following the screens without any professional eyes on my form. Is this a common staffing trend, or is my studio an outlier? I love that F45 workouts change constantly. However, with the movements being so different every day, the risk of injury feels much higher when there isn't enough supervision.

I’m looking for some insight into what might be happening with my case behind the scenes.

I had my interview on April 8, 2024, at the San Diego Field Office, and I'm currently in "Held for Review" status. I wanted to share my timeline to see if this is typical or if this specific document issue usually leads to further delays.

Case Type: Family-Based I-485 (Marriage to USC)

Field Office: San Diego, CA

Background/Case Type:

  • Status: Adjusting from F1 Visa (currently on OPT).
  • History: Entered the US in 2017 on an F1. I have maintained status throughout, have no overstays, and no unauthorized employment.
  • Case Type: Family-Based I-485 (Marriage to USC)

The Timeline:

  • Filing Date: December 26, 2025
  • Initial RFE (I-693 & Tax Transcripts): January 2, 2026
  • Biometrics: January 23, 2026
  • RFE Response Sent: March 3, 2026 (Interview scheduled immediately after receipt)
  • Interview Date: April 8, 2026
  • Post-Interview RFE: April 10, 2026 (Request for Certified Copy of Marriage Certificate)
  • RFE Response Received by USCIS: April 14, 2026
  • Current Status: "USCIS has begun working on your case again. We will send you a decision or notify you if we need something from you."

The interview was professional and seemed to go well. However, a point of confusion arose regarding our marriage documentation. We presented our St. Louis (Missouri) Marriage License. In St. Louis, the License and the Certificate are the same physical document. The "Return of Marriage" is recorded and certified on the bottom half of the original license.

The officer was unsure about this format and stated they needed to consult with a supervisor. While they said they might have a decision by that evening, we instead received an RFE for a "Certified Marriage Certificate" on April 10th. We immediately obtained a fresh certified copy from the Recorder of Deeds and it was marked as received by USCIS on April 14th.

My Specific Questions for Officers:

  1. Adjudication Lag: Since the RFE response was received 3 weeks ago (and the interview was nearly a month ago), is this a standard lag for "reviewing" additional evidence in San Diego?
  2. State-Specific Docs: How often do cases get stalled because an officer isn't familiar with a specific state’s document format (like the St. Louis combined License/Certificate)? Does the supervisor's review usually resolve this, or does it just sit in a pile?
  3. Red Flags: Does this timing suggest anything beyond a simple document review, such as a background check delay, or is it likely just a workload issue?

I appreciate any guidance and insights into the current workload at the San Diego FO or typical patterns seen lately. Thank you!
