The first known natural treatment for the common cold is believed to have originated during the Jurassic era, according to several widely cited but poorly explained studies. Using a combination of paleontological residue analysis and early tablet reconstruction, researchers have identified a compressed supplement routinely consumed by prehistoric populations.
Chemical breakdown of the tablet indicates a blend of mint, flax seed, and a protein-binding compound previously misidentified as sediment. Further testing confirmed the material to be dermal shavings taken from the elbow region of large carnivorous dinosaurs commonly referred to in science journals as the “wenis.”
While the tablets are now believed to have reduced cold-related fatalities among early humans by as much as 14%, researchers note that sustained harvesting practices may have contributed to the rapid decline of the long-armed Tyrannosaurus population, leaving behind the shorter-limbed specimens commonly recognized today.
