Alien Rogue Incursion: I like it but, the manual save mechanic makes it a bit difficult to me
Yes, I suck.
I understand the appeal of a save mechanic like this.
It keeps you at the edge of your seat. Your actions have consequences. You need to survive until the next save station.
Cool, but when you work and have a kid, such things make you scratch your head sometimes.
I either need to stop playing for X reason and must put the console on sleep mode (?) to not lose progress OR I die and need to replay whole sections. When you don’t have too much time to play, losing your progress hurts.
Also, I can die over and over again in games like Dark souls because they are straight forward and simple. Go and kill again. But, in games with dialogue, puzzles, etc. It becomes a chore to replay sections.
Anyway, that’s me. Awesome game of course. I will keep pushing forward.
PD. I’m not that bad. I have died maybe 3 times but, still annoying for the reasons I just said.
This game is maybe the weirdest game I’ve ever played
I know this is old news, but I still wanted to share my thoughts on this crazy game. It feels so weird, and I’ve been playing games for as long as I can remember. I’m 35.
From the beginning, this game felt like something else. The trailers were so insane that many of us thought the game wasn’t even real, lol. Then the reviews came out, and they were all over the place. Even then, you didn’t know whether you would like it or not. “This game is love it or hate it.” “The game gets good much later on…” etc.
Now I’ve played around 50 hours, and I still don’t know if I like it or not. If a friend asked me whether they should buy the game, I would say: “I don’t know,😂 .”
I feel like everything about this game comes with a “but.”
Sometimes I feel like I’m playing it just for the graphics, which can be beautiful, but I’m playing on PS5, so the performance is mediocre and there’s a lot of ghosting.
I’m using Quality Mode, by the way. Performance Mode looks really bad to me.
The combat can be fun and brutal, but the controls are… troublesome. I hate the “all you can eat” healing mechanic.
The world is beautiful, but you move through it by doing weirdly designed quests with terrible storytelling. This is worse than AI writing. I write for hobby and work with AI the whole time and what you can get with it is actually interesting and even funny. This is not.
The puzzles can be fun, especially with the physics interactions, but sometimes they’re so esoteric that you need a YouTube guide. And an oracle. And maybe an exorcism.
Etc. You get my point.
I never know whether a gaming session with it will be fun or frustrating.
Sometimes I don’t want to put the controller down, and other times I feel like I wasted my precious time playing through a nonsensical slog.
Yet, even so, I want to keep playing. There’s this weird feeling that something awaits. That there’s still more to see in its huge world. You want to play that awesome game from the short clips you see on social media, with epic armors and mounts.
Another bizarre thing is the support from the devs. Rarely do you see developers respond so quickly to player feedback. It makes the game feel alive to me, and it makes me come back knowing the devs actually care about it.
Weird-ass game. I have never felt this way before. I’m usually either a lover or a hater of a game. But with this one, I’m stuck in a toxic love-hate relationship.
Man, these missions can get so annoying. This guy was such an ass with his questions I turned the game off and went to sleep
RE9 Gold Edition with VR, classic costumes (Leon/Chris) & all Story DLCs releasing late 2026
reddit.comI really appreciate the set of exclusive VR features Bulletstorm VR brings to the table
Going to buy all of Flat2VR games at once. They deserve all the support. Can’t wait for Flatout VR.
Excited.
TLDR: Bulletstorm VR is awesome and should get more attention.
I suppose this game probably got enough attention here when it came out (I wasn’t here. Didn’t have VR back then).
Now it sits in oblivion.
I have read it had issues at launch, but I am honestly baffled at how forgotten this game is here after trying it today for myself.
Currently it is in a great state. The graphics are sharp, among the highest resolution you can expect for psvr2. The performance is solid so far and the game is just fun.
It is a PS3 era game but it is still a AAA game and we don’t have many of those for the platform YET, I never see it getting recommended among other heavylifters like GT7, Horizon, NMS, RE, etc.
IMHO this game should be listed and recommended more in these mainstream lists. Since is actually a fun AAA game with a currently great VR implementation, so, what’s not to like?
It starts slow and basic but the more you play, the more mechanics for massacre you get and you feel badass when you start dominating the controls.
Not a fan of the blurry 720p (?) cinematics but hey, at least they are 3D….
Don’t know why I waited so long to buy it since I loved it in 2D back then and getting back to it in VR is just so awesome.
