Contemplating Tawakkul from Surah Maryam
I really love this moment in Surah Maryam.
When Maryam AS is exhausted, grieving and going through hardest moments of her life, she rests by a date palm. Allah ﷻ comforts her—and then tells her to shake the tree so fresh dates fall for her.
Allah could have provided for her without any effort, just like He sent mannosalwa for bani israel. After all he is the same Rabb that created Isa AS in the most fascinating way solely through her But He still asked her to do her part while guiding her & comforting her.
It shows that tawakkul isn’t passive. It’s not just waiting—it’s trusting Allah while still doing your part.
Even if it’s small. Even if it feels like it won’t change much.
Because the outcome is always from Allah, but the effort is still ours.
