is the pixel 8 extended warranty program a scam???
A bit of a story, i bought a pixel 8 in Canada when i went there as an exchange student in 2024 and now the phone has a green line (which is a known manufacturing defect/error) and the touchscreen itself also stopped working entirely. I'm now residing in my home country (Indonesia) that isnt officially supported by google. When i try to fix my phone under the extended warranty, google support says that my phone is not eligible even though it should be. They only want to cover it if i fix it in Canada and of course that wouldn't be possible even if i ship it there the cost would be higher than the price of the phone.
for anyone that is residing in a unsupported country, i strongly recommend against buying a pixel phone. the after sales team is unhelpful and do not actually care about the customer.
The phone now is basically a useless brick that i can't use. Hopefully google support will be more helpful in the future to everyone that buys their phone, not just the one that are in a supported country
