Current property investors - what next?

Will you sell before 2027? Hold your negative gear IP? And then what once it’s positive? Will you now start to invest in new builds? Or will the demand for new builds increase further driving building prices up, no longer making this a viable investment?

After the announcement of Oshin Japanese restaurant on Adelaide street permanently closing after 39 years of trade - it made me wonder- What other brisbane businesses are still operating after multiple decades? I’m less interested in the old Pubs or Hotels but more the family run businesses.

I’d personally love to check them out as they must be doing something right to remain strong in this market. Here are a couple I know of:

Beijing Acupuncture at Dutton Park (1988) - 38 years
Annerley Meats at Annerley (1977) - 49 years

Which ones do you know about? And are they good?

Anyone know what happened to the downunder bar and the entire backpackers joint? I know covid ruined a once thriving industry and building - but how has it not recovered. I feel the entire backpackers scene in Brissy is gone entirely - what happened?
