I swear to God, working with this guy is like walking through a minefield. This is just a sample of the things that have annoyed him in the last two weeks:
Our manager asked him to move his car because a large delivery truck couldn't get in. He grumbled something about how it's a free country and he can park wherever he wants.
Someone asked him if he remembered Dunkaroos from the early 2000s. He took it as us making fun of his 'humble' childhood because his parents didn't buy him name-brand snacks.
A manager gently reminded him that the quarterly numbers were due on Friday. He muttered to another colleague that our manager is a 'control freak'.
He was complaining that Macy's was too expensive to get a gift for his girlfriend, so I suggested he check out Forever 21. He got super defensive and said his girlfriend isn't 'cheap' and deserves something nice.
I asked if he was going to try the new sandwich place downstairs for lunch. I don't know how he twisted it, but he made it about me commenting on his eating habits.
I was walking toward the printer and he happened to be walking in front of me. He stopped, turned around, and asked if I was following him. Dude, the printer is in the same direction for both of us.
One time I came around a corner and said 'Hey!' He jumped. He literally wouldn't look at me for the rest of the day.
And this is just a small sample, by the way. He never complains to HR or anything, he just gets passive-aggressive and makes the whole office tense.
