BG3 has changed my life

I’ve always been into video games but stopped playing in my mid 20s. I’m now 41 and recently bought a gaming PC. My wife and I started gaming together and played a few games together . It was an awesome way to connect and improve our communication skills.

I heard and read that Baldurs Gate was a good game but didn’t think I would get into it since it was a turn based game and I had mostly only ever played FPS games.

We purchased the Xbox pass and played through most of those that we could play together.

I finally decided to take the plunge, spend the money and start BG3.

At first we struggled to learn the play mechanics and all of the quirks . I would become quite frustrated and struggled initially with the fighting . I was pretty bad because I was so used to run and gun. My wife was a natural, she plays very strategic and she was very good.

Eventually I became more comfortable and we started strategizing together . As we went on, we became absolutely enthralled by the game. We were playing hours on end and just couldn’t get enough of it.

We are now almost 200 hours in and it’s our favorite activity to do together. I’m an anxious person , so I usually have a difficult time sitting down and doing something for an extended period of time . I’ve found that when I play my anxiety goes away. My partner and I have become closer and it’s been a nice way to connect and spend quality time .

We have just reached Baldurs Gate and it feels like a new game has been unlocked . I’ve recently purchase my step dad to join us and play, so we will be sharing a new game together .

Every time I play this game, my mind is blown at the amount of detail and surprises the game has.

I just wanted to share my experience and shout how fucking amazing this game is!
