I started my dream nature book

I m looking for advice on howto illustrate small flowers better .

I started my sketch book last week and first i went with alcohol markers which i enjoyed for some but they are too caricaturistic for my taste of nature and i just got in to watercolor which are new for me again.

Is there any source u know to find good references or u do it like me and get away with pinterest.

All of these are from Istanbul streets (except red spider lily which was my friends request)

Started watercoloring for the first time please judge and give advice

I currently started to make my dream street botanical book and i was using alcohol markers for first few pages but they seemed so unnatural for a person studying botanical. I tried just 4 colors light red oxide , red violet , sap green and olive green (only the light red oxide is a half pan i m carring along me all day others are watercolor pencils.

I m thinking to put a set together or buy a set from van gogh (vibrant colors , classic or shades of nature) if i make the set i could use colors i like and i m totaly new in color making making all the colors i will love for all different plants are a bit scary
