Slingshot Rental Company did not actually have insurance that I paid for
I paid for insurance for a Slingshot (3 wheeled motorcycle) that I rented in Birmingham, Alabama. My insurance company does not cover slingshots because they are considered motorcycles. The company failed to renew their tags and I got pulled over. The officer ran the plates and found out there was no insurance coverage and I got ticketed for operating a vehicle without insurance. I told the company about this and they refunded my money and told me they’ll take care of this and sent me their proof of insurance. I called their agent, but she said that the policy expired and so there was no insurance on that day.
So what do I do? Driving without insurance is a misdemeanor in Alabama and I made every effort to be covered but was screwed by the company.
