You

tips are very much appreciated! (my grammar mistakes are on purpose if that makes sense. It's like a stylistic thing)

-----

I think about you all the time.

Multiple times a day.

I'd be surprised if you think of me at all.

You remind me of vanilla ice cream

and the tree with the yellow buds in my yard

and raspberry tea with lots of honey

and the way it smells after it rains.

I've memorized the way your eyes sparkle when you smile

and the exact shade of green they turn when the sun hits them just right.

I can picture your laugh

down to the look you get on your face when you're trying not to smile.

I have had many adorations,

but you are unlike anyone i've met before.

And you will never know how much you mean to me

All my love,

S.M.

[RO] Soulmate AU

I hope this isn't corny lol. I had a formatting issue so I had to repost. Tips would be very much appreciated!

-----------------

Sadie had known since she was young that she had a soulmate. Most people did have soulmates. The way you found out is, every time you thought about your soulmate, a date would appear in your head, almost like magic. On that day, you would meet your soulmate. After the day you meet them, when you think about your soulmate, you get a sort of feeling on days that you see them. That countdown is for when the next time you see them will be.
Even though most people had soulmates, people can still guess wrong. Every time someone tries to convince themselves that their soulmate is someone they aren’t, their soulmate clock slowly fades, until they essentially don’t have a soulmate anymore. That’s what happened to Sadie’s parents. It happens to a lot of people.
Because of this, Sadie was insanely scared of never finding her soulmate, even though she knew she would meet them. April 30th, 2023. She’d be in 8th grade. That’s when they would meet. Until that very day, Sadie’s thoughts largely consisted of wondering who her soulmate was.
When the day finally came, she woke up anxious. She went to school, looking for faces in the hallway she didn’t recognize and introducing herself to strangers. After school, she had her first ever Marching Band practice. Right away, the director had everyone stand in a circle and introduce themselves. Sadie waited to feel something, but nothing was happening. Practice went on for about two hours, and at the end, all of the students gathered around the podium to be dismissed. The director gave a little speech before asking the staff members if they had anything to say. One staff member raised her hand and introduced herself. The woman kept talking for a couple more seconds, but Sadie couldn’t hear her. She was too busy looking around the room to find anyone that made her feel something.
Eventually, they were dismissed, and Sadie went home. She couldn’t stop thinking about all the people she met today. The next morning, she found that she would see her soulmate on Thursday. The day of the next marching band rehearsal.

As time went on, Sadie still couldn’t figure out who her soulmate was. She knew they were in Marching Band and Winter Percussion, but not her band classes. Years went by without Sadie finding her mysterious other half. It wasn’t until band camp three years later, the summer before her junior year, when she started to put together the pieces. Over the past three years, Sadie has become more involved in the band programs then essentially anyone else. She and her best friend, Leo, were co drum majors, and they were thriving. They stayed late, tutored kids, and inspired the students to improve. Sadie, especially, had also developed close relationships with a lot of the adult staff members. There was Sheldon, a man around 30 who somehow gave the energy of a cranky 80 year old. Dana, a sax player with a talent for naming any song ever, Dana’s girlfriend Harper, who also went to Sadie’s high school a couple years before her. There was a one-armed lady who was a blacksmith but also had some mad skill with writing drill. And there was Spencer, who went to the same college as Dana. Sadie had gotten particularly close with Dana, Harper, and Spencer, because they all shared similar tastes in music and humor. After one practice, Sadie and Leo stayed after to help Dana, Harper and Spencer restring like four marimbas because somehow the fromble broke that many in one practice. Sadie realized when she was walking out of the building after all of the boards were fixed that she felt a warm fuzzy feeling in her chest after hanging out with that group.
The time that it really clicked for sadie was when Sadie decided to go to a choir concert to watch a couple of her friends, even though she wasn’t in choir. That morning, she felt a sort of buzzing through her entire body. After the concert, she met up with a couple of her friends in the choir room, and realized that everyone she saw from marching band, she either had them in her band class, or they were already with their soulmate. All except for one person. Spencer.
Spencer, who was hired to be in the show choir band.
But how could Sadie go up to her and tell her that her soulmate is a junior in highschool? She couldn’t. So she’d have to wait for Spencer to figure it out herself.

That day didn’t come for another three months. Sadie was in a local coffee shop, and the person in front of her turned around, and saw her. It was Spencer. Sadie could tell that Spencer was putting pieces together in her mind, and then the older woman waited for Sadie’s drink to be done before taking her to Spencer’s car. She asked Sadie if it was okay if they talked for a little bit. Sadie said yes. Once in the car, they were both quiet for a little bit.
Spencer was the first to speak. “How long have you known?”
Sadie was quiet for a minute. “How did you know I knew?”
The older woman laughed quietly “you had this look on your face. When you were watching me figure it out.”
Sadie smiled gently at the woman across from her. “Since the choir concert”
Spencer laughed in shock. “Sades! What the hell, dude. That was like months ago.” Sadie smiled and shrugged. Spencer pulled into a parking spot in a secluded part of the park. Spencer got out of the car and leaned against the front bumper, looking at the sky. Sadie followed and went to stand by Spencer.
“Spence…” sadie started, but whatever words she was about to say got stuck in her throat when she saw that the woman across from her had tears in her eyes. Sadie was about to start apologizing when Spencer suddenly whispered “I was so scared I was never going to find you.” They looked at each other for a second before Spencer pulled Sadie into a hug.
They stayed there for a while, both crying tears of relief and shock. When they pulled apart, sadie said “are you upset? Do you wish it was someone else?”
Spencer looked almost offended. “Absoluetly not. Why would you think that?” Sadie replied that she thought Spencer would be mad because Sadie is younger by about three years. “Sadie. I could never be mad at you. You are…” spencer looked up with a smile, eyes still watery, like she was searching for the words she wanted. “...everything I could have asked for.”
They hugged again, and held hands as they sat in the park for a couple more hours. They talked about everything and nothing all at once. They held hands, and Spencer rested her head on Sadie’s shoulder. They knew their relationship was worth taking slowly. They had forever to get it right.
