I kept losing track of feeding/shedding… so I built something

I kept running into the same problem, forgetting feeding dates, not being sure about the last shed, losing notes, etc.

I asked about it here before and tried things like spreadsheets, notes, even a notebook by the enclosure. They work, but get messy over time and it’s hard to actually see patterns.

So I built something simple for myself, mainly for tracking feeding, weight, shedding, etc. I also tried a few existing apps, but they felt a bit overcomplicated, so I kept this one very straightforward.

Planning to put it on the App Store soon in case it’s useful to others too. Might also add a small AI feature for quick questions later on.

If there’s any feature you’d want in something like this (especially for snakes), I’d love to hear it.

I actually asked about it here on Reddit a while back, and most suggestions were things like spreadsheets, notes, or even a notebook next to the enclosure. I tried a few of those, they work to some extent, but I always felt like they get messy over time and it’s hard to really see patterns.

So I ended up building something simple just for myself. It started mainly with snakes in mind (feeding, weight, shedding, etc.), since that’s what I’m dealing with, but I’m definitely open to expanding it for other reptiles too if it makes sense.

I also tried a couple of existing apps, but they didn’t really click for me, mostly felt a bit overcomplicated UI-wise. So I just shaped this one around what I personally needed.

Planning to put it on the App Store soon in case it’s useful to others here as well. I’m also thinking of adding a small AI feature where you can ask quick questions when needed, but that’s still in progress.

If there’s anything you’d want from something like this as a feature (especially for snakes atm), I’d genuinely like to hear it.

Thinking of building a simple tracker for snake care, would love your thoughts

Hey everyone,

I’ve been keeping snakes for a while and one thing I keep struggling with is tracking everything properly. Feeding, weight, shedding, medication… it gets messy fast.

I’ve also seen similar issues come up here quite often, so I started thinking about building something simple for it.

The idea is basically an app where you can log feeding, track weight and length, record sheds and medication, and see everything clearly instead of scattered notes.

Before going further, I wanted to ask:

What do you feel is missing when it comes to tracking your snake’s care?
Anything you’d definitely want in a tool like this?
