I don't know how to go about it...
So this is our current deck. Was here when we bought the house 9 years ago. I absolutely need a re-deck. So as it is now, it's 16 feet long by 10 1/2. I want to extend it by 14 feet and add another 1 1/2 food to the width.
I guess I have so many questions. The old deck has 4×4 post buried into the ground. I would like to try and salvage the frame of the existing one and build on to it. Should I do the same with 4x4 posts for the extension or use those blocks that 4x4 fit into? I also want to do the base in crushed stone for better drainage and level it, then thinking i can use those blocks for supporting the new section. I bought all the railings i needed last year at home depot. They had a massive sale on them so I figured store them in the basement. At least I have something bought to motivate me and get it done.
Am I absolutely overthinking this?
