Harry is truly the best husband on the show
Season 6, Episode 16: Out Of The Frying Pan
Charolette gets disappointing news that none of her eggs were viable for fertilization. This is just a few episodes after she found out she was 3ish weeks pregnant, and then shortly after she suffers from a miscarriage. Harry called Carrie to come help because Charolette went into a deep depression. She eventually pulls herself out and channels Elizabeth Taylor to get herself to Brady’s 1st birthday party.
The story moves forward to this current episode. After learning she, once again, wasn’t able to get pregnant, Harry gently tells her he is doing some groundwork for adoption in case they aren’t able to conceive on their own. His grace and willingness to adopt is such a stark difference to Trey. He’s such a better match for Charlotte in so many ways. After he breaks the news, Charolette goes on a run to have some time to think. This leads to her meeting Mrs. Trudy Stork and Princess Dandyridge Brandywine. She had a moment of weakness and burst into tears after proclaiming that just because Princess Dandyridge has a shortcoming doesn’t mean she isn’t valuable. She apologizes and explains to Mrs. Trudy that she is having a lot of trouble conceiving. Letter on, there’s a knock at the door. It’s the doorman with the surprise of Princess Dandyridge Brandywine in a wicker basket, adorned with big pink bows. Harry comes in and sees Charolette beaming from ear to ear and his reaction is just the sweetest thing. I love this entire sequence from beginning to end. I love how the give us the POV of the doorman so we get to see Charolette light up. We see Harry come in and before he even knows what’s going on, he starts beaming too. Seeing Charlotte so excited was enough to make him beam from ear to ear himself. He really blows all the other men on this show out of the water.
Harry: “Who is that?!”
Charolette:”She's a present, can we keep her?!”
Harry: “Anything that makes you smile like that, we'd be crazy not to! What's her name?”
Charolette: “Princess Dandyridge Brandywine.”
Harry: “That's impossible, you gotta change it.”
Charolette: “What should we name you, pretty girl? Huh?! Who's the prettiest girl in the world?Elizabeth Taylor.”
Harry: “Elizabeth Taylor Goldenblatt.”
The sweetest part to me is that while Charolette is looking at the dog, Harry is looking at Charolette. They did such a good job at showing us how well Harry truly sees Charolette. He doesn’t just listen to her, he SEES her. I hate how in And Just Like That they reduced him down to this old man sputtering around and grumbling. The episode when Charolette goes back to work reallllly upset me. They make him overreact and huff and puff about having to pick up the slack for her. I do not buy that this is the same man that would literally do anything for his girl.
