Scotland West Coast 10-14 day itinerary advice

Travelling from Northumberland and planning to drive straight to Ardrossan to catch a ferry and start our holiday on Arran.

Thoughts on Arran-> Oban -> Mull -> Glencoe -> Crianlariach -> Northumberland in the last two weeks of September would be really appreciated.

We’re a reasonably fit and mobile couple in our early 60s. Priorities are scenery, some pleasant walking, arts & crafts, good gluten free food (seafood a big plus) and simple, peaceful en-suite accommodation.

Any and all advice welcome on the itinerary in general, where to stop, where to stay, how long for, where to miss, accommodation (self catering incl), eating places or great food suppliers, walks, sights …

And a couple of specific questions:

  1. Some thoughts we could go as far as Torridon, would that be over-reaching?

  2. Does smidge work at that time of year or will we need nets?

Thank you!
