they gave up showing the game
I've been in the give it a chance group for FM26 since release, I got used to the UI, I've not seen any gamebreaking bugs, its been alright.
but I'm struggling to get any tactic other than a 442 to work, at all, at first ive blamed being in the prem, players not cutting it, bad games, but as im writing this i have a game on full match my elite team is losing 1-0 to westham, I've been trying to figure out why my tactic isn't working for weeks tbh, i took a massive break, it so hard to enjoy the game i have no heatmaps no nothing to indicate why one of the most expensive teams to ever exist, in value of players, ,multiple world class players. I've done the ringer before, ive been through this stuff on previous FMs and i manage throgh it, but even as my team gets better in FM26 in terms of ability, as i adjust my tactic to fit different players or fix problems im managing to scrap together from stats. we just dont cut it, nothing, at home, away, no significant winstreaks, no domination, 2035 with leeds, havent won the league. in no game have i gone this long in the top level with this little reward.
im watching west ham away trying to figure out where we are losing the ball, I've always felt this game is easier to defend harder to attack, butwether i create 4 or 0.2 xg, 1 or 2 strikers, wingers, no wingers, FB, WB, push through middle, direct passing, short passing, high tempo, super pressing, no pressing sit back. we never get to 2nd balls, we send the ball up randomly to lose it constantly, they run rings around us, we send balls up to world class players and if it even reached them they head it away, or they try to dribble it and get tackled, or they run to a corner and dont manage to find a pass, some of these players have been together for years, they are happy, goals set to win the league, win the champions league, i have promises to these players. but watching it live I dont see tactical missteps, we aren't being overrun or dominated, my players are ignoring runs, leaving random openings, it happens sure, we have 1 XG right now and I've not even seen a shot on target. ON FULL MATCH.
I cant learn anything no matter what highlights I'm on, in real life I'd watch this game and go the players arent playing for their manager. wtf am i supposed to do with that over multiple seasons? its genuinely horrendous this has been the worst FM to play so far and not because of the UI or the changes to the game we've seen, it just feels unrewarding, theres no upwards climb it doesnt feel possible to learn from whats going wrong, its just a giant screw you go look up meta tactics, it feels like that alot on FM but this one. 800 hours and I feel lost tbh. this was my beta save, win the league with leeds then go on to my main save. great thanks FM im really enjoying my beta save...
