Great Dane

Does anyone know about this artist or any of his music? I discovered a Great Dane a while ago. I do like a couple of his songs across different albums. His genre is something that I don’t hear often and I’m not even sure if it’s considered bass music. He has a minimal style, but the bass goes super hard.
It’s kind of trap-like and hip-hopesque. I saw a boiler room of his from 11 or so years ago and it seemed like it was not well received by the YouTube crowd or the live audience. He even commented something along the lines of I didn’t realize I had to mix more, and I was just trying to display my beats. I’ve seen that he does house music sets at times as well. The songs I do like are pretty heady, but that’s just me…

Reminiscing on the Gorge

This trip was so pivotal to not only my growth in music taste, but also my growth as a person. The person who arrived and the person who left are two completely different people. I feel like his retirement is a lesson in detachment to so many people. Things can be so fun and great and beautiful but at some point things will end and that’s the way that it will be. But life is not worse because something ended. Life is real because something ended. And endings only influence new beginnings and unique ways to find more fun and beauty in life.

Bass artists making dnb

What are your thoughts on bass artists making dnb or playing dnb during their sets? I really love glitch hop, experimental bass, and music of the sort. However, sometimes when artists of these genres play dnb it just doesn’t hit right. I thoroughly enjoy drum and bass but when I’m at a bass show and they play just 1 or 2 dnb tunes it either isn’t enough or feels disingenuous. I feel like this happened more so last year and the 2024. Now, since it seems like garage is the new big ‘niche’ genre, a couple garage tracks will be thrown in. What are your thoughts?

Fav albums?

I definitely have a plethora of other favorite albums but I go through waves of admiration for different albums at different times. This May my ears are full of Logistics and Technimatic. What are some other dnb albums do you like?
