Industrial Design grad considering TAS teaching would love real advice

Hey everyone,

I’m an Industrial Design graduate from UNSW and have been working in the design space (product design, ceramics, some hands-on making), and I’ve recently been seriously considering becoming a TAS teacher in NSW or VIC .

Before I fully commit to doing a Master of Teaching, I’d really love to chat with someone who’s currently working as a TAS teacher to get an honest insight into the job the good, the bad, workload, lifestyle, what you actually spend your time doing, etc.

If anyone here is a TAS teacher (or knows someone who is) and would be open to a quick 15–30 min Zoom call, I’d really appreciate it. Happy to work around your schedule.

Also, does anyone have experience with the “Transition to Teaching Scholarship Program”? How long do programs like this usually stick around, and is it something I should be applying for now?

Thanks a lot 🙏
