To preface "why have you not asked your GP" - I might do, but I am nervous that if they find anything it could cause them to stop my GAHT.
The very quick tl;dr is I'm mtf, and before I started GAHT six months ago my blood tests showed my oestrogen levels were several times above the normal range for a cis guy. This was noted by the private endocrinologist but nothing was looked into further. When I mentioned it at the time to someone who was a nurse in the NHS and has experience with transgender people, they asked if I was interse and said it was a possibility given some other traits we'd discussed.
I didn't think much of it until a few weeks ago when I had my blood test redone for the six months checkup for my GAHT. The endocrinologist remarked that I'd had very rapid changes even though my oestrogen levels weren't that high, and said he thought I might be very sensitive to oestrogen.
This has obviously brought up the possibility of me being intersex again, and looking up more about the various conditions that fall under that umbrella there do appear to be some that can cause higher than normal levels of oestrogen as well as sensitivity to oestrogen. I know in would need to speak to my GP if I wanted tomlook into this further, but I was wondering about the following:
Is being intersex, or them investigating the possibility, going to result in them putting the GAHT on pause?
Am I even correct that this could be an indication that I am intersex?
Is this something that a gp would even look into/refer to a specialist? Or are they likely to not be ause it's not causing any issues, and the GAHT might make it hard for them to investigate?
Any help appreciated, thank you <3
