How to make the design prettier for a working web application

I am currently building a web application with a bunch of calculation logic and pages, which have a lot of Formular data. I have a left navigation bar and the different pages. I am using Claude in vs code.

The functionality is pretty much implemented, but the app looks ugly (Text touches the left side of text boxes), the cards don’t have any space between them and each page has different width. There is obviously a lot more that needs to be improved.

When I tell Claude Code to fix the issues I mentioned above, it doesn’t fix it properly and also it doesn’t make a lot of design changes even when I give it a better navigationbar as design link. I also tried using Claude design skill, but it doesn’t not change a lot.

What is the best way to continue to get a more beautiful looking app? Do I need to code CSS manually? Or is there a way to vibecode it?
