Let me preface with being a master automotive technician for 17 years. The situation is scary, yes. But, for the price I paid, and the 90 day/3,000 100% P&L warranty included (yes, I will PICK THIS CAR APART during that window, haha.), I have no problem rolling the dice with this.

While I await arrival, via truck delivery, I have done extensive research on not only the EJ257, but the updated RA engine as well.

I tend to enjoy this for what it is. A fun car to commute, have the occasional fun with, and a beauty to stare at and appreciate. I am respectful of my vehicles, and do not treat them like I just joined Torettos crew (well, without proper care and modifications).

Anyways, I understand these are not cheap cars to modify, by any means. But, I am interested in making this last as long as possible, while I determine whether I want to take the powertrain out and take it to my shop for some serious work. That being said, I wanted to get some recommendations for achieving and keeping a healthy and reliable machine. I may take it up to ~330-350whp with simple bolt-ons and an AP. But for reliability and longevity, I was considering these mods. Anyone's input is greatly appreciated!

- Mishimoto X-Line Rad (3-row)

- AOS

- Possible FM oil cooler

- 3-5k oil changes

- Kevlar timing belt

- EL header? (I am understanding the headers are not nearly as important at lower power levels? But Id also want to address the Cyl 4 heat issue)

Appreciate the time guys. Feel free to add any recommendations. I will post a pic when the car arrives. I look forward to being a part of the STi fam. 💪🫶
