Has anybody got any experience with Schlage locks?

I recently moved into a new place, when I first moved in when I put the door code in to the lock, 9 out of 10 times it would give me a red flashing light as if the code is entered wrong. After multiple attempts it usually opens. I reported it to my apartment manager and a locksmith came out and changed the lock, to the same type of lock but a new one. When I press each number I am ensuring all numbers are entered and engage.

Batteries have been replaced also.

I am still having the same issue with the new lock, I have reported it again to the locksmith but they have no idea.

If anyone has any advice I would be so grateful!
