Hello,

I’m a 28-year-old man originally from an Asian country. I currently live in Europe, so I often read English articles.

Since 2019, when I was 21, I have experienced noticeable physical symptoms, especially pressure and pain in my left chest and numbness in my left hand. Sometimes I also feel angry or anxious without being able to clearly identify the cause.

I suspect that the trauma from that time may still be affecting both my emotions and my body.

When I was 21, I was a university student and was part of a student club for two years until I was excluded in April 2019. Through that incident, I experienced many shocking situations, and I still cannot clearly understand the reasons behind what happened. Maybe I was the one who disrupted the group harmony, or maybe the others did not treat me fairly. Or perhaps there is something wrong with my personality (some students suggested this at the time).

A few months later, I started doing part-time jobs, but they didn’t work out. At some point, I experienced hyperventilation and the symptoms I mentioned above, which made it difficult for me to go outside. I then took a break for several semesters.

Since then, I have continuously experienced anxiety and physical pain. I have seen both psychiatrists and psychologists and taken medication, but it did not help much. I was told that physically there is nothing wrong with me, so I assume the symptoms may be related to psychological causes rooted in the past.

Maybe it is important to ignore these negative feelings and focus on something more positive and engaging. I try to do that most of the time, but I still get stuck here.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone with similar experiences, how they managed to improve, or any advice. Thank you in advance.
