Beginner question
Hi fellow runners!! First time poster, I have a very beginner question. I am training for a marathon in October 2026. I have completed 2 half marathons (2024 & 2025) and didn’t need strength training, but with marathon training, I am getting glute and hip flexor pains. Should I add strength training to my routine or running more frequently is enough to make my leg muscles stronger? Is strength training essential or is this running influencer hype as I am seeing it everywhere? I am seeing so much conflicting information. I am 32years old female, running 40km a week right now, I run 3x a week. Never ran this much in my life before.
