As the title says, I've been training about 4 years and been put to sleep 4 times. First couple times were some viscious baseball chokes as a white belt and I just kind of dismissed it as naivety, but I just got put to sleep less than 2 months ago by a darce and then today again by a punch choke.
I know I'm a little on the stubborn side, but the increase in frequency has me concerned. Everyone says "just tap" but I used to train just fine, feel when a choke was on, and tap no biggie. It's starting to feel like I'm going out easier and easier and honestly I'm getting freaked out. I don't want to have a stroke or aortic dissection.
Has anyone gone through this? I'm sure the answer is just "tap sooner" and I mean I guess I know that but on some level I can't seem to get through to my own brain when I need to tap. I'm not recognizing the threat for what it is and then I wake up. Any advice or commiseration? Am I the dumbest person on earth?
