Yesterday I used tampons for the first time.
For the very first tampon I took a square of toilet paper and blotted it under me to see where the blood was coming from aka my vagina. I then gently pushed in tampon with plastic applicator and made sure to angle it towards my back. There was a slight burning sensation, not painful just uncomfortable, and I was able to successfully insert it. Once it was in I didn’t feel it inside and later pulling it out was just uncomfortable not painful.
Then when I needed to replace again it was much harder. The tissue method wasn’t working. So I went on my phone camera and used it as a mirror to find my vagina opening. I found it and inserted it but this it felt like it wouldn’t go in and I was feeling a painful burning sensation. I changed positions from sitting to standing but still couldn’t get it in. After 5 tampons I was able to get it in but I had to push through the burning pain. Once it was in, it felt comfortable and couldn’t feel it.
Now when I needed to replace again for 3rd time that day it was also harder than my very first time. I pulled out the previous one, no pain just uncomfortable pressure feeling. I tried the tissue method again while sitting didn’t work. I then got a new tampon and used phone camera as mirror again and I got it in successfully. I still felt the burning pain but I just pushed through it.
Btw I’ve been using a light tampon with plastic applicator. And am on day 1 of period with medium flow.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it always going to feel like this?
