I have a question about how you handle syncing video and audio in a professional workflow. Is there a standard approach most people follow?
I’ve been using Merge Clips quite a bit because it’s easy and semi-automatic, but I’ve run into some issues. When I deliver projects to my sound editor, she mentions that she loses metadata – like track names created on set – and has to manually relink the material.
She’s working in Pro Tools, and we’ve even gone through the export process together to make sure the settings were correct, but the same problem keeps happening. So I’m starting to wonder if the Merge Clips function might be the cause.
How do you typically sync video and audio in your workflow? And what’s your process for delivering projects to a sound editor?
