I’m attending a university convocation as a guest. It’s a presentation of an honorary degree with a reception to follow.
In June, so it will be hot. Also long.
Are dress pants and buttoned shirt sufficient, or must I add jacket and tie?

Update: I took Reddit’s advice and asked the Office of the President, who sent me the invitation.
Business casual, dress pants and buttoned shirt. Jacket and tie not required.
