$AIMD Q1: Smell AI Execution Starting to Take Shape

Read through Ainos $AIMD Q1 report today. Get a good sense of Smell AI rollout.

They’re still moving forward with the previously announced ~$2.1M semiconductor deployment tied to around 1400 AI Nose systems, while also expanding into hospital infrastructure and continuing robotics integration work.

One thing that caught my attention was the company talking more about “near-threshold” sensing and pattern recognition. Sounds like the goal is not just detecting problems after alarms go off, but identifying smaller environmental changes earlier before they become bigger issues. That seems especially relevant for semiconductor fabs and critical infrastructure environments.

Management also keeps emphasizing that enterprise adoption takes time with pilot programs, validation, infrastructure integration, and staged deployment. That actually feels realistic for semis and hospitals.

They also said they believe current execution priorities could support broader revenue opportunities in 2H 2026, which IMO was one of the more important comments in the release.

Financially, things looked more disciplined too:

• Opex down ~30% YoY

• Excluding SBC and D&A, operating expenses still declined ~4% YoY to about $1.11M

• Added roughly $2.8M financing support during the quarter

Still definitely early stage, but the Smell AI roadmap across semis, healthcare infrastructure, and robotics feels a lot more structured now.
