I have 3 clients for home health. (Pediatric) and 1 client has made it miserable.
- mom doesn’t have AC on ( I live in Arizona and it’s 90-100 outside) house is always around 80-85 degrees and it’s torture for me cause I stay in 70-75 at my place.
- mom never oriented me to the house. No like you’re welcome to put lunch in fridge or here’s the bathroom ( I had to ask on my 2nd shift) communication is non existent besides when we are celebrating milestones of the patient together. I love the patient.
- patient throws up so much that once a day clothes are soiled. And I don’t know where/ not allowed to get patient clothes. I have to ask mom and sometimes it takes a couple hours for her to bring me a new pair of clothing.
- I’m not allowed upstairs, I’m only allowed in a small living area with a tv and a couch. The bathroom is located in the living room I’m not allowed to be in so there’s times I’m holding in my bladder or ya know for hours until I can get home because mom is always hanging out in that living room and it gets awkward.
-patient always has missing medications that happens over and over no matter how many times me or manager educated mom it’s a constant thing so I do lots of incident reports
- 2 siblings, one that goes into my purse and patients medications and throws food and messes everywhere and the other sibling that taunts and hits the patient and tests me constantly to see what she can get away with. And because where I am located is the playroom, I’m managing all 3 kids while mom is in the other room relaxing.
-personally sweating and overheating in 85 degree house with no breeze just makes me not want to do anything and super miserable.
