Has anyone changed from phenobarbital to Levetiracetam? What changed did you notice?

I've had phenobarbital for 35 years, keeping me seizure free. Now the levels of the drug are too low when tested and I can increase the dose of phenobarbital or change to Levetiracetam.

The only time I had to increase the dose of phenobarbital for a brief period, I was sleeping all the time. I'm worried for the long term side effects, because I read with long terms use it affects he memory (also the bones). Plus it's not ideal if I want to plan pregnancy.

Looking at Levetiracetam it seems it often affects the mood.

What experiences have you had comparing both medications?
