So I've had some blood work done a few months ago to figure out why I couldn't lose any weight despite my efforts and turns out I have insulin resistance. For the record I weigh 90kg or 198pounds for 1m70 or 5.7 ft. Otherwise the rest of it was perfectly normal, no hormonal imbalance or anything concerning except some vitamin deficiencies. I did some research and found out insulin resistance hinders weight loss and might explain why I haven't been able to drop any weight.
So I went back to my physician seeking some advice and he basically told me there is nothing to be done except lose weight.
I tried a consistent diet around 1500-1600 calories a day, noting down everything I ate for a month with the help of a nutritionist and I still lost 0 grams. The diet made feel exhausted and low energy all the time..It was a horrible experience overall but I kept telling myself it would be worth it by the end of the month when I finally weigh myself.
Honestly the result of this experiment made me really depressed and despite going to different physicians afterwards and doing additional blood work, the only thing I'm told to do is lose weight on my own and to exercise. Which I already try.
At this point I'm considering to just stop eating all together because I don't know what to do.
Has anyone lived something similar or know how to deal with insulin resistance ?
Am I right in accusing the insulin resistance or am I just delusional ?
