I’m currently working as an X-ray tech, but lately I’ve been seriously considering switching careers into accounting. I know radiology is considered a stable and well-paying field, and I’m grateful for that, but after working in healthcare I honestly don’t see myself doing it long term.
I think I’d be happier in a career that offers more flexibility, possibly remote work, and less time in a hospital environment around sick patients every day. I don’t mean that in a negative or insensitive way at all — I’ve just realized healthcare may not be the best long-term fit for me personally.
Has anyone else made a switch like this from healthcare into accounting/business? Do you regret it or feel happier now? And does this sound crazy considering I already made it through X-ray school? 😭
