I'm a huge romance reader, but I’ve been so frustrated lately. I spend more time filtering tags than actually reading, and half the time, the specific trope combo I’m craving just doesn't exist.
Since I code a bit, I’ve been messing around with a personal hobby idea: basically a way to just "input" exactly what I want (tropes, dynamics, etc.) and have a story generated on the spot.
I’ve put together a few mockups of how I think the "story builder" should look, but I’m worried I’m just over-thinking it because I'm a dev.
I’d love to know your thoughts as readers:
- Would you actually use something that lets you "build" your own fic from scratch?
- Or is the "search and find" part of AO3 actually part of the fun for you?
