I’ve never had this issue in any office I’ve worked in. At least three of my coworkers clip (ALL TEN OF) their fingernails during the workday at their cubicles. It’s one of the most maddening noises I’ve had to endure in an otherwise quiet office environment.

I’m of the opinion that you should take care of that at home. Maybe clipping one hangnail or filing your nails is ok at your desk. But if you do it at work, at least go to the damn bathroom. However, these 3-4 men (and one woman) clip their nails almost weekly. I swear I hear that horrible tiny metallic sound 10 times every month. I guess I should at least be thankful I haven’t had any clippings fly into my cubicle!

Anyone else have coworkers who do this?
