Of course Modern controls don't *need* to use autocombos, and at a higher level, they typically will not use them as often.

However! Tons DO have auto hit confirms, so it's important to lab those strings out so you don't get hit by a stray into CA.

Many characters have tricky bits in their autocombos that once you learn, makes it way, WAY harder for them to open you up, and it makes for more fun fights.

I took some time to learn what every Modern character's autocombo strings look like, how to punish the gaps, if I can punish on block, and I've seen a huge boost in my winrate against them.

Some may say, "Why should I practice it if only Modern players can do it?" That's exactly why! Why get knowledge checked, when you can show them you're not the average warrior? It's just like any matchup - you lab your weak spots and find theirs.

Fighting Modern players is like fighting another Groove in CVS2 - you gotta be ready for the unique stuff they can do!

Using the kinetic force of a flicking motion, and the weight of a standard ball top, you can force the stick to make rotations faster than you can physically churn butter.

Wanted to perform this in Third Strike because the input buffer is a bit more strict. It's a bit easier to pull off in Street Fighter 6.

Hope to land this on my friends when we meet next.

I was Diamond when I saw the Master Phase 11 title was a Third Strike animation, and I set my heart on it to absolutely get to Master before the phase ended. I only started playing fighting games 5 years ago, but Third Strike with the homies is where I learned my fundamentals. It holds a lot of meaning to me. Those are precious memories. So I knew I had to level up in order to get it.

What got me from Diamond to Master was undoubtedly the Custom Rooms I fought in. I probably had 4 hours total of Custom Room matches when I first got to Diamond.

By chance, I encountered an Aki player in ranked one day that was phenomenal! Diamond like me, but they had an answer to everything I threw at them. I invited them to a custom room, complimented them, and added them. We quickly became friends.

They invited me to custom rooms with their brother, who was in Master, and shortly after, they hit Master too. They introduced me to their Grand Master friend who I also fought against. Playing against them made me realize why that Aki player was so good. For weeks and weeks, I didn't even play ranked that much, I just fought them over and over. We did FT3s for hours in those sessions.

I went back to Diamond and it felt like I steamrolled through it like a freight train. All the training made me feel like I was untouchable, until I hit Master. My momentum immediately changed and I got bitch slapped back down to reality.

I'm getting my ass whooped so badly calibrating my MR that I'm not sure I belong here. But I'm not losing every game in a row, which shows me they can be defeated. But the loss streak also shows me just how much I have left to grow. Master is just a PNG on my profile; I'm still the same player I was. I still have more work to do. I'd love to run long sets with more people! Let's fight!

I thought I would be done when I hit Master, but the game and the feeling of gradual inprovement and optimizations...it's just too addicting. I can't stop playing!

Basically it. Was thinking of trying City of the Wolves after watching the Daigo vs. MenaRD FT10, the game looks insanely fun.

Will my knowledge of Ken in SF6 carry over? Is Terry fun to play? What kind of habits do I have from Capcom fighters that are bad for SNK fighters? Any legacy mechanics that I need to know? Thanks all.
