Sinusitis claim
Was a helicopter mechanic in the USMC for 6 years doing constant fuel cell maintenance, fuel samples, exposure to solvents and paints, etc. I have CT scans from my private doctor showing the need for a chronic sinus surgery, C&P examiner said he noticed damage and inflammation in my nose. I explained I have numerous sinus infections every year with medicine for em. Claim denied. Private doctor won’t wrote a nexus or letter but I’ve submitted CT Scans, personal statement explaining exposures causing my sinuses weren’t like this before service. Denial says no diagnosis and no in service exposure documented. I figured given my MOS and personal letter that would explain the exposures.
Should I do an HLR to explain to a senior rater these exposures and how you don’t document every single exposure while you’re in service and explain my CT scan and need for surgery? Normally not frustrated over denials but this one is frustrating.
