Update: Fiji Air updates my itinerary on their own according and turned it into a multi-itinerary: home airport to DFW and YVR-NAN with no transit between DFW and YVR 💀

I have an AA business class award booking connecting in Dallas (DFW) on the way to Nadi (NAN) at the end of the year that’s directly affected by the DFW-NAN route cancellation by Fiji Airways due to ongoing issues in the Middle East and gas price. When I called Fiji, they gave me the possibility of rerouting through LAX or SFO, which is fine, but since I booked through AA, the Fiji rep said that an AA rep needs to initiate a 3-way call with me and Fiji Airways to reroute my domestic flight and the Fiji Airways flight.

When I called AA, the rep noted that there’s no mention of the cancellation in their system yet (I also see that Fiji Airways still sell this DFW-NAN direct flight on their website for my travel date). The AA rep escalated my case to their Liaison office and told me to contact back in several days for an update because their Liaison office won’t contact me directly. If anyone has ever dealt with an involuntary change in a partner award booking with a domestic portion on AA, what are your experiences and recommendations on how to deal with this?

Everyone should pick up their own dog’s 💩, but we all know there are jerks who leave their dog 💩 on sidewalks and grass. For those moments, maybe adding this clown’s face next to it will be appropriate.
