Recently I've seen a lot of people asking for friends or people to hang out with in Nijmegen.

Humanitas tries to help those people with their "vriendenbank".
For people who speak dutch, just read the flyer lol.

For people who only speak english, they help match people with similar interests.
After you contact them they ask some things about you to better match you. Then after they've found someone who might fit they help set up a first appointment. After that you're on your own.

Btw, this service is explicitly for normal people to meet friends, but who need a hand.

This is not like some services where you get matched with a volunteer or something for social contact.
