Before it even came out, I studied the first three movies detail by detail, probably more than the writers of ROR. For example, in the first movie, Cinderella appears in the background with Chad, looking like she did in the original cartoon.
I didn't like how the characters have a monochromatic color scheme, whereas in the first three movies, Mal had some purple, pink and green and it was less vibrant. And also,👏 not 👏 every 👏 character 👏 has 👏 to 👏have 👏 colored 👏 hair! I get that they are trying to appeal to younger audiences, but this is a little overstimulating.
In terms of plot, I think they should have stuck with the original idea of the first movie, "The children of Disney movie characters." What they could have done instead is for Red and Chloe to time travel to the original cartoons(but in live action of course). It just feels wrong for everyone to be at the same high school. Fairy godmother is supposed to be a motherly figure to Cinderella, so it just feels wrong for them to both be teenagers.
Anyways, I wanted to make this post after hearing that terrible new "perfect princess nepo baby" song.
