Hey folks, I'm Often-Ponders (Ponders) [M26] and want to briefly introduce myself before getting to the characters.

I've been fortunate to run D&D for a wonderful group of friends since high school, and this is my first time reaching out, let alone online, for players or a DM.

I'm running my own Dark Souls 5E Homebrew on Saturdays, but I'd like a little more tabletop magic in my life, and a have a chance to be a player.

I've played D&D since I was 15 and have bore the mantle of forever DM since I was 18. As a player, I enjoy 3 things:

  • Collaboration
    • The biggest one for me. I love seeing my fellow player's arcs unfold, seeing the DM get to showcase their time and effort, and creating stories and moments we can look back on.
  • Roleplay
    • My voices and accents can be laughable at times, but I'll match the enthusiasm of the DM and players every time. I love interacting in character with my fellow players especially and expanding party dynamics.
  • Tactical Combat
    • I love combat that encourages party collaboration and drives in-character dynamics as well as above table interaction. When you the party overcomes great odds, it's a phenomenal feeling.

I have primary experience in Foundry VTT and run a butchered Homebrew branch of 5E for my entire span as a DM, so I'm all for homebrew.

In fact, one of my favorite Homebrew authors is Laserllama: I truly adore their interpretations of classes and would love the chance to play them myself; however, if it's not possible, I have characters who can work without Homebrew classes.

Without further ado, here are the characters I'm hoping to find forever campaigns for, and, of course, if alterations need to be made to fit the setting, let's talk:

  • Bilsor of a Thousand Tales
    • Class
      • Wizard | Order of Scribes
    • Ancestry
      • M Gnome
    • Backstory
      • Bilsor is an old gnome who seeks stories to inspire the next generation of heroes, and even finds himself in a few. Upon his quilted robes are the countless tales of heroism he has recorded. Lastly, he is apart of an unofficial guild where he meets with fellow old timer's and gentleman Reginald (an orc) and (always changing super long name) elf to swap stories.
    • Goal with character
      • No big plans in mind for Bilsor and more of a focus on party interaction and seeing their own stories shine.
  • Heiter (Otto) Zonich
    • Class
      • Paladin | Oath of Glory
    • Ancestry
      • M Aasimar
    • Backstory
      • Otto is an old man who is proud that his son, Heiter, became an adventurer, and it made it all the more devastating when his son's remain was sent back to him. Instead of holding a funeral, Otto took up his son's name in secret and is determined to see his son's name sung in every tavern as the hero he was meant to be.
    • Goal with character
      • I want a story of a father's love and struggle to accept his son's death. Otto is perhaps mad with grief and truly does not know what his son did with his time as an adventurer nor how he died. This character would be an otherwise jubilant and helpful character on the outside and is heavily inspired by Siegeward from Dark Souls.
  • Postus (Adélard Martel)
    • Class
      • Fighter | Laserllama Guerilla
    • Ancestry
      • M Human
    • Backstory
      • A run away noble from Cormyr who left for a more grounded existence as a soldier in the Lord's Alliance stationed in the Savage Frontier. A tradition among traveling forces is to deliver letters or belongings to the relatives of the battle torn commoners, and Adélard took this seriously, so much so he abandoned being soldier and took the silly moniker Postus, the Post Knight. He has sworn his service to deliver the letters of the war torn and meek, no matter the danger.
    • Goal with Character
      • More interested in the relationships he makes with the party and maybe even the founding of a paladin order dedicated to his cause? Oh, and the above table goal of being fast (gotta be swift with the mail, ya know?).

I've got two more but this post has ended up longer than I intended. If you have any questions I'll be glad to answer what I can and I hope to find a home for these characters.
