Match 27
Hi everyone, I’m an IMG from Pakistan applying for Match 2027. I’ve passed Step 2 and OET, but pathways are still not open, so I’m not ECFMG certified yet.
(My visa interview got delayed due to the ongoing situation in Pakistan.) My interview is now in mid-July, and if approved, I’ll probably reach the U.S. in August. I’m planning to prepare for Step 3 in May–June from Pakistan.
I wanted to ask:
- When are ECFMG pathways expected to open?
- Is it realistic to get ECFMG certified before interview/application season and book Step 3 in time?
- Since my schedule is very tight with ERAS token timing and rotations, and some observerships may continue into September, will those still count for my application considering Sept 24 is the deadline?
- With limited time in the U.S., how many rotations are realistically manageable?
