Help us pick a tree type!
Hi Reddit!! Coming to the gardening community for a suggestion since this is outside my area of expertise! My partner and I are moving in together for the first time (yay)! We want to buy a young tree together to kind of celebrate and then and bring it with us wherever we go from here so it can grow along with us. We’re both avid houseplant carers and I’m even working on a garden this year, but we’re both pretty novice in terms of outdoor plants in general. Does anyone have a suggestion for a kind of tree that would be nice for this like symbolic journey? It would need to be something that we could keep potted for a few years as we’re just renting for now. We live in Chicago if that matters at all for soil or weather!
