Restaurant Chez L'Ami Jean - yes or no

At the urging of a store proprietor in Paris, I've been speaking to people in French more (I would say im intermediate with the confidence of a beginner when speaking to a native speaker). Anyway, the 3 servers i asked either didn't know what it is or didnt understand what i was asking. My wofe and I went 12 years ago and it was very good, but I've read recent reviews that indicate otherwise. Any opinions?

Thank you!!

Cafe Ordering

Heya group,

Have been in Paris for a few days. Just curious what proper cafe ordering etiquette is - i walked into a café and asked for an espresso and was told to take a seat and that it would be brought to me. I noticed a french couple just order from the table.

If I intend to stay for my coffee do I just sit down and wait ro be noticed? She also immediately asked me if I wanted it to go when I ordered at the counter.

Thanks gang!

Ive already discovered a boulangerie iflve been going to every morning for a coffee and pastry (they serve incredible...maritozzi 🤔...IN addition to your usual fare...never wouldve thought I'd find my ideal maritozzo in france). Also an amazing bistro thats only a few mins from where im staying (lots of Fremch being spoken there, which is a good sign if I understand correctly)
