My 8 year old was diagnosed with viral induced asthma. He usually coughs up a storm when his asthma flares with a cold. This time, he steadily was breathing off for a couple days. Not gasping for air, but doing a weird mouth nose deep breath randomly then normal breathing. Then it went to only mouth breathing and he said his chest was tight. He had his blue puffer and it calmed down. That was Monday and overall he seems fine. Eating. Drinking, sleeping soundly. The only thing now is this weird random deep breathing through his nose every couple mins. He has a pediatrician apt on Tuesday. We were told to continue his blue puffer but what the heck is going on?
He also has autism is he doing this as a tic? Is his blue puffer not helping ?
If he wasn't doing the nose thing, you wouldn't know anything is different.
