Should I take this promotion?
Hi everyone, I would love some advice as this is all new to me and I’m in my own head about it.
I have been in my role for 3 years in a client coordination aspect ( in aged care ) and have been offered a promotion to a Care Manager.
I have previously advised this is a direction I would like to head down in my career path and do feel grateful they are helping me achieve that.
My biggest concern is they have only offered a $2,500 salary increase, which is disheartening as I know the work load and expectations I will have once I transition.
My boss has said that I will be on the higher end of the salary based on what other enter level Care Managers would be on but I feel my experience in my current position is very beneficial and was hoping for more ( I have asked but the best the can do is this offer )
I am not sure if I am looking for a reason not to take it as I am comfortable in my current role or if because I my head I was expecting more and maybe just need to come to terms with this if I want to progress in my career.
Any advice would be so appreciated.
