Going through a turbulent corporate career since 2024 after a good initial 8 years, what's ahead in my career
Over the last 2 years, I’ve faced a lot of ups and downs in my career. I spent 8 years at my previous company, where I grew quickly, received 3 promotions, and built a strong track record. But by November 2024, the work environment had become too stressful and political, and I decided to leave without another offer in hand because I could no longer handle the negativity.
In February 2025, I joined a new company and even took a small pay cut for the opportunity. The initial few months were good, but the company is now going through a difficult phase, and after a rotational team change, I’ve ended up in a very toxic work environment with limited career growth.
I’m now looking for a new role again. In any case, I didn’t plan to stay here for more than 1–1.5 years, but the current situation has pushed me to start looking sooner.
I want to understand what my career path looks like from here. Will I be able to find a better opportunity in the coming months, one with a healthier work environment and stronger growth potential? And in the long term, how does my career progression look? Will I be able to achieve the kind of growth and impact I know I’m capable of?
