I recently completed my consolidation in a retirement home and have received an offer to work on an acute geriatric floor at a hospital. I wanted to ask if you think this transition would be manageable and appropriate given my experience. I'm still not confident with some of my skills

I also noticed that the job posting has been up for over three months, and I was wondering if that indicates anything specific about the role or hiring process.

I would really appreciate any insight you can share.

I’m trying to decide between two new grad nursing opportunities, and I’m feeling really torn because each has clear pros and cons.

  1. A New Grad Guarantee (NGG) position on a medicine floor. It seems like a great environment for learning and building clinical skills, but after the initial 3 months, there’s no guarantee of full-time or even part-time hours, I may have to continue as casual.
  2. A full-time temporary 1 year contract position on a geriatric floor (ACE floor) and opportunity to extend the contact. The job security is appealing, but I’m concerned the clinical skills. There are only about 9 ish orientation shifts, and I feel pretty anxious about being on my own so quickly as a new grad. working on such floor are the skills very difficult ??

any advice?
